Registration and Collection of Students

  • Comet Drama takes responsibility for students only during their scheduled class times. We cannot be held accountable for students outside these hours. Therefore, children cannot be admitted before their class begins.

  • Parents/guardians are required to sign their children in at the start of each class and pick them up promptly from the designated collection point at the end of class.

  • Our classes are drop-off only; no parent or guardian is allowed inside the venue during classes except during end-of-term showings.

  • Classes start and finish on time. Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure minimal disruption.

  • For your child’s safety, if someone new will be collecting your child, please inform Comet Drama in advance.

    Late Collection

  • A late fee of £5 will be charged if a parent/guardian is more than 15 minutes late in collecting their child.

  • If a child is not collected in a reasonable time and we cannot reach the parent/guardian through provided contact details, Comet Drama will contact social services. In case of emergency, please notify Lucy Ward as soon as possible.

    Attendance

  • If a child is unable to attend a class, please inform Comet Drama ahead of time. If a student cannot attend a showing day, notify us well in advance once dates are confirmed.

  • Missed classes are non-refundable as our teachers and venues still incur costs.

    What to bring to class

  • Students must bring their own water bottle to stay hydrated.

  • Cosmos class (Musical theatre) students may bring a small, nut-free snack.

  • Students should wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement.

  • Only trainers are allowed, no sandals or boots.

    Illness or Accident at Comet Drama

  • Children who have had sickness or diarrhoea in the past 24 hours are not allowed to attend class to protect other students and staff.

  • If a child falls ill or has an accident during class, parents/guardians will be contacted using the emergency details provided. The nature of the illness or accident will be explained, and the child should be collected to seek medical advice.

  • In case of a serious emergency requiring hospital treatment, Comet Drama will call an ambulance and notify the parents/guardians immediately.

  • Parents/guardians must keep Comet Drama updated with any changes to contact information to ensure they can be reached during class if necessary.

    Cancellation of Classes and Refunds

  • Comet Drama cannot be held liable for cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., extreme weather, fire, flooding, or criminal activities).

  • Comet Drama has a strict no-refund policy.

    Fees

  • Fees must be paid before the first day of each term.

  • Students will not be admitted to class without prior payment.

  • Payments can be made via bank transfer.

  • Childcare vouchers are not accepted.

    Leaving

  • If a student leaves before the term ends, no refunds will be issued. Enrolment is term-based, and the full-term fee is required even if the student leaves halfway.

  • Parents/guardians should provide at least half a terms notice via email if their child will not continue. Without notice, it is assumed the student will return, and fees will be charged accordingly.

    Behaviour Management

  • Comet Drama encourages positive behaviour with words of encouragement and stickers. Misbehaving children will receive up to two verbal warnings before being asked to sit out after a third warning.

  • Parents/guardians will be informed at pick up if their child was asked to sit out due to behaviour.

  • In severe cases, a child may be asked to leave, and parents/guardians will need to collect them.

    Personal Belongings

  • Comet Drama is not liable for lost or damaged personal belongings. It is recommended that students either avoid bringing valuables or ensure they are clearly labelled. Students are responsible for any items they bring, such as phones, toys, bags, money, and water bottles.

    Safeguarding

  • Comet Drama understands that it is it of the upmost importance to always keep your children safe. We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all our students.

  • All Comet Drama teachers have an enhanced DBS certificate and follow our safeguarding policy.
